General Description Saint Joseph Health System is proud to offer two Pharmacy Resident positions in a 52 week, ASHP accredited, PGY2 Ambulatory Care pharmacy residency program. This residency is conducted primarily within Saint Joseph Health System Family Medicine Center which also houses our Family Medicine residency program, as well as primary care offices of our physician network. The residency year is comprised of both elective and required experiences combined in a quarterly format in addition to elective block rotations. Yep, we know it's nontraditional. Feel free to ask us about it. The curriculum of the PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency Program emulates the practice of the Pharmacy Residency faculty. Patient care, teaching, practice management and project management occur longitudinally across the entire residency year. These practical and realistic experiences will develop an exemplary ambulatory care pharmacist who is proficient and compassionate in all interactions with patients, learners and colleagues, as well as a humble leader within the profession of Pharmacy. Teaching Experiences You can't turn around without teaching someone: patients, students, residents, even faculty. Residents have the opportunity to complete didactic lectures for pharmacists, pharmacy residents, and medical residents at Saint Joseph Health System. In addition to this, residents have the lecture opportunities at colleges of pharmacy. Residents are given the opportunity to created development plans for the incoming PGY1 class, create and lead the residency didactics and leadership sessions, precept pharmacy students, PGY1 pharmacy residents, and PGY2 and PGY3 medical residents. If you have not done one, residents are able to participate in the Indiana Pharmacy Teaching Certificate Residency Pearls Beyond Our Stellar Preceptors and Curriculum - The Mission of Saint Joseph Health Center is very tangible on a daily basis.
