Market Job Description
The WFSE Compliance Department forms part of the EMEA Compliance Department which includes regulatory compliance, the management of regulator relationships and the management of Financial Crime Risk for WFSE. The department provides regulatory advice (including Customer Due Diligence, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Sanctions, Fraud), Compliance monitoring, Compliance training and Regulatory policy and procedure development.
As a Compliance Officer the candidate will have responsibility for assisting the Chief Compliance Officer and senior management to manage regulatory compliance risk and act as Deputy MLRO; Develop a WFSE Compliance Risk Management Program that incorporates applicable laws, rules and regulations in alignment with the EMEA Compliance Program and; assist in managing the core elements of WFSE Compliance, coordinating activities with and in support of EMEA Compliance.
Support the WFSE Chief Compliance Officer in various initiatives including:
Act as Deputy MLRO for WFSE;
Identification of any aspects within the regulations supporting the relevant WFSE and Wells Fargo Financial Crime Programs that will impact Wells Fargo's activities across the EMEA region, especially in France;
Document risks associated with the successful implementation of new/updated regulation/regulatory change that will impact the lines of business operating within the EMEA region and existing processes/resources/IT solutions that underpin the financial crime framework;
Oversight and continued assessment of WFSE and relevant LOBs' adherence to the financial crime requirements against the Wells Fargo framework, documenting gaps and tracking to successful completion any agreed remediation tasks;
Work with other key stakeholders, such as Monitoring & Testing teams, to ensure risks and mitigating solutions are clearly articulated.
Assist with the completion of the AML Risk Assessment program for WFSE and the EMEA region (particularly in France) and any remediation activities highlighted to address residual risks.
Develop and implement a annual WFSE compliance and risk management plan.
Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures for WFSE.
Coordinate key compliance communications within WFSE and promote and provide training and awareness, as required.
Escalate compliance and FCRM issues to support appropriate communications with Senior Management and support their issue resolution.
Support EMEA Compliance initiatives within WFSE.
Network internally and externally to keep appraised on FCRM and compliance matters.
Assist with the management and administration of the Compliance Risk Management tools across the EMEA Compliance Program (SHRP).

Market Skills and Certifications
Educated to degree level.
Strong generalist compliance and AML experience is essential, preferably within a compliance shared service function in a wholesale banking / investment banking environment.
Strong understanding of Global and European regulatory requirements and how these apply to banking / investment banking lines of business.
US regulatory knowledge is desirable.
Analytical skills – the candidate have good analytical skills with experience in collecting, analysing, and synthesizing information on various subjects.
IT literate - including Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and other reporting tools but also able to understand use of technology for improving the regulatory control environment.
Problem solving skills – the candidate must demonstrate the ability to identify key issues, and obtain appropriate information for further analysis.
Communication - excellent interpersonal, communication (written and oral) skills are essential with an ability to liaise professionally and with diplomacy across all levels of staff.
Teamwork skills – the candidate must be flexible in his/her work style and be able to work appropriately with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels.
