Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Program Coordinator for the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research. Under the direction of senior research personnel, the Senior Program Coordinator supports a research portfolio of mixed-methods and interdisciplinary research that examines health service systems and policies affecting people with substance use disorders, opioid use disorder, child and adolescent mental/behavioral health conditions, as well as other vulnerable populations. This positions plays a key role in supporting initiatives to improve engagement of special populations across the New Jersey Alliance for Clinical and Translational Science (NJ ACTS) as well as the utilization of large healthcare datasets for research that will inform and improve population health and health care systems.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Assists in qualitative data collection and management, conducting literature reviews, recruiting for study enrollment, facilitating interviews, supporting IRB submissions and grant applications, and coordinating stakeholder advisory panels.
Supports program operations including identifying potential funding mechanisms, logistical management of funded research, organizing internal Center and study specific meetings, and scheduling guest speakers and interviews.
Works both independently and with Center faculty, research staff, and research partners.
Maintains the calendar and other scheduling needs as required for the Center Director.
Support the line of Public/Academic research under the direction of senior research personnel.
Facilitates and supports multiple federally funded collaborative projects with a broad range of research partners.
Facilitates tracking and management of activities related to Public/Academic research collaborations.
Minimum Education and Experience:
A minimum of two (2) years of project management experience.
A minimum one (1) year of community health activities, including volunteerism.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of program coordination, organizational processes, facilitation, report analysis, writing, promotion/outreach.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Possess strong organizational skills, an ability to prioritize, creativity, and solid judgement.
Ability to efficiently multi-task in a multifaceted environment.
Highly detail-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and flexible.
Possesses strong skills in written and verbal communication.
Efficient in a fast-paced academic environment.
Master's degree in a social science field plus two (2) years of related experience.
Experience working in an academic environment.
Experience in research addressing health care systems and policies.
Knowledge surrounding Medicaid and/or Medicare policy and implementation.
Experience with academic IRB applications.
Experience with creating and utilizing database tracking systems such as Qualtrics and MS Access
MS Office products
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Occasional evening and weekend time may be needed as we work with investigators and other experts around the country. Performs other duties as required.
