The USC Office of Cultural Relations and University Events is seeking a Web & System Manager to join its team. This position encompasses managing both the front and backend development of web pages and systems.Â Â
This position will directly manage the Web Developer, and is responsible for the creation of websites and graphics, maintenance of web content management pages, delivery of web projects, and conducting usability testing for public-facing web sites. In addition, this role will be available to troubleshoot and fix computer equipment for the department.Â
The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all university stakeholders, and work independently across multiple projects and deadlines.
Work with Cultural Relations and University Events management to conceptualize, and implement web projects and computer systems management.Â Â Â
Full life-cycle project management for the design, implementation, and management of web design projects.
Direct web development and design from conception to reality, which may include graphic design, web application programming and development, and digital properties, as required.Â
Provides leadership and direction for web and IT projects for staff and student coordinators, including scheduling and reviewing web code and projects.
Develop and provide on-going support for customized Cultural Relations and University Event's reservation websites to include event and multi-level ticket pages.Â
Provide technical support to Office of Cultural Relations and University Events staff and USC Visions and Voices staff on an as needed basis and respond to technical questions and computer issues in a timely manner, including after hours support, as needed. This includes managing, troubleshooting, and fixing computer equipment for the department.
Train and work with staff members to use new technology and to achieve their goals.
Knowledge of web programming techniques and protocolsÂ
Experience building, designing, testing and deploying websites using front and backend developmentÂ
Experience in developing and maintaining web applications on Amazon Web Services and/or other cloud platformsÂ
The ability to develop and design sites using content management systems and frameworksÂ Â
Proven ability to create websites for cross-browser platforms and responsive accessibility as it relates to University standards and design
Ability to create complex database driven websites and reporting applications
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required. Works closely with vendors, staff and facultyÂ
Strong organizational skills including ability to plan and support business recovery when problems occurÂ
Ability to multi-task, manage workload well and prioritize effectively when faced with multiple projectsÂ
Strong attention to detailÂ Â
Ability to coordinate and maintain a complex calendarÂ
Ability to work well under deadlines in a fast-paced environmentÂ
Ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervisionÂ
Ability to organize and coordinate special projectsÂ
Must have a sense ofÂ âprotocolâ with top level executivesÂ
Bachelorâs degree in Computer Information Systems or Digital Arts
Demonstrated front-end web publishing experience (online portfolio is highly recommended)
Mac/PC certification and/or knowledge of multiple operating systems
Experience building web applications using APIs
