The Clinical and Translational Research Services (CTRS) Research Assistant will support the work of all CTRS functions, to include, but not limited to, reviewing and compiling information for annual grant reporting; drafting reports and presentations; conducting analysis of existing practices, gathering information to guide development and implementation of new initiatives, processes and workflows; ensuring proper preparation for meetings; drafting correspondence; and collaborating with CTRS Managers on various initiatives. The Research Assistant will be asked to gather needed information, understand context for initiatives and reporting, and to move assigned tasks/projects forward. This position will be approximately 20 hours a week.
Responsibilities - Support activities around the completion of the required materials by CTRS functions for the annual CTSA Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR). - Develop mechanisms to track ongoing efforts to ensure that all CTRS teams are in alignment with RPPR metrics, initiatives and necessary institutional reporting. - Facilitate quarterly discussions of efforts/progress on key initiatives, pulling together highlights and metrics with each team, support for drafting annual reports, etc. - Assist CTRS teams with compiling CTRS quarterly metrics, to include developing dashboards/visuals and drafting presentations. - Providing CTRS data as requested for various presentations/reports/departments - Independently research and gather information to prepare for meetings, correspondence and presentations. - Collaborate with CTRS managers and other stakeholders to assist with initiatives/projects where information/engagement with CTRS managers/teams are needed to move a project forward. Serve as the project manager to drive initiatives forward. - Conducts analysis of various CTRS functions as directed by the CTRS Associate Director. - Assist with data collection and data entry efforts across CTRS functions - Provide assistance to the CTRS pilot award administrator team, working with appropriate CTRS Managers in drafting RFAs, facilitating reviews, tracking of awards and annual reports, etc.
Required Qualifications - Enrolled in Master’s program in public health, nursing, or similar field at the University of Minnesota starting. Additional consideration may be given to students who would be available for two years. Appointment continued each semester contingent on department needs, funding and satisfactory job performance. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Skilled in use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel - Strong organization skills and flexibility to multitask, meet project deadlines, and respond promptly to issues. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively - Dependable, resourceful, and willing to learn new things - Familiarity and/or experience working in research and/or grant programs
