Responsible for supporting the campus process improvement plan for streamline business processes. Work directly with teams to show measurable results in process efficiency, customer satisfaction and savings in all areas of the organization through better processes, tools and thinking.
Team Support Activities: Develop streamlined processes in business operational areas of financial services, procurement, disbursements, budget, and accounting. Assist with research on potential solutions to provide evidence-based results. Support process testing efforts. Initiate discussions on process issues not being addressed with business standards. Assist in developing and maintaining the process improvement roadmap and change management initiatives. Project Management Activities: Through discovery exercises identify use cases for testing process improvement projects. Assess risk and ensure internal controls following COSO framework internal control objectives for categories: operations, reporting and compliance. Prepare analysis and documentation (including process mapping) of business processes. Illustrate the flow of the business process using mapping tools to visualize the flow of the current and future state status of the small to moderate size projects. Assist in the development of metrics and monitoring systems for business processes. Business Process Program Support Tasks: Provide guidance and coaching to business process quality improvement teams on quality methodology. Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in business management, accounting, finance, economics, organizational development, management information systems, or a related field. One (1) to three (3) years of experience with process improvement, program management or the equivalent experience.
Business Process or Business Analysis Certification Program. Experience working or assisting with projects through planning, design, testing, and implementation. Experience applying industry methodology to support stages of process improvement. Experience with process mapping, root cause analysis, and risk analysis. Experience working on process improvement projects in a higher education environment. Knowledge of general accounting processes used by State of Texas Higher Education System.
