Location: Hyde Park Campus Job Description: Unit-Specific Responsibilities 1) Provide direct, on-call support and maintenance for media-enhanced spaces, online media services, and the daily use of media equipment in teaching, learning, and research. 2) Both independently and as part of a team, support academic projects and campus multimedia activities, including recording courses, digitizing materials, and editing. 3) Provide expertise and support for the design of AV-equipped spaces, the evaluation of new technology, the development of new services, and the improvement of existing services. 4) Researches, develops, installs and operates audio-visual systems and related technologies (including but not limited to video conferencing, digital media and other desktop and network-based technologies) for meetings, classrooms, etc. 5) Maintains systems, troubleshooting problems when necessary. 6) Trains faculty, staff and students to operate audio-visual systems. 7) Performs post-production tasks, including advanced editing, digitization and incorporating graphic enhancements. 8) Advises on media alternatives; may oversee the work of and train other audio-visual technicians.  9) Perform other duties as assigned.   Unit-Preferred Competencies 1) Familiar with accessible technologies. 2) Strong knowledge of the correct configuration and use of microphones, audio mixers, projectors, professional-grade video cameras. 3) Capable of planning, testing, and executing an AV design in support of a live event. 4) Professional and patient customer service attitude, understand customer needs quickly and explain technical topics to a non-technical audience. 5) Outstanding communication and collaboration skills. 6) A record of reliable and responsible performance. 7) Manage multiple priorities and competing projects under supervisory direction.
