Responsibilities Technical contributor with a high degree of knowledge in the overall field of data management in large complex environments. This position is on the Data Acquisition and Architecture team in the IT Health Informatics department, supporting the Health System's development of data assets to manage clinical applications and health analytics. The Program/Analyst participates in all aspects of the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of ETL programs. This includes requirements gathering, data retrieval from a variety of clinical, financial, purchasing, HR, and other critical data sources, validation, and curation, database administration, and translation of data into usable, well-documented data structures. The incumbent may also participate in strategic initiatives and business development by evaluating and enhancing our suite of BI/analytics tools and advising on an integrated data warehousing strategy.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, clinical informatics, statistics or related field.
Minimum of five years of experience in clinical data management from various healthcare software systems or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL); experience with query tuning and optimization in MS-SQL Server and/or Oracle.
Comprehensive understanding of database processes, technologies, and tools including ETL Tools, particularly, SQL Server MS-SQL
Demonstrated knowledge of data modeling/architecture principles.
Demonstrated experience translating customer requirements into technical specifications and documentation.
Experience developing and using logic and flow diagrams to describe the functional processes of a system that both end-users and programmers can understand.
Excellent organizational skills to determine and prioritize workload to enable timely completion of tasks.
Experience identifying, communicating, and resolving problems in a collaborative, professional manner.
Experience working in a structured Software Development Lifecycle methodology (SDLC).
Demonstrated experience working independently with minimal direction in a dynamic and diverse environment.
Proven ability to deal with highly confidential, secured, and financial matters; practical application of HIPPA and privacy rules.
Proficiency with various office software tools such as Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Participate in Application Deployment Go Live support, which may include working evenings, nights and extended hours.
Participate in On-call support rotation. Including carrying a pager/cell phone and adhering to policy availability and response times.
Master's degree in computer science, clinical informatics, statistics or related field.
Familiarity with visualization/analytics tools (Business Objects, Qlikview, Tableau); ability to translate data into actionable information via graphical representations.
Demonstrated experience creating and presenting oral and written material to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.
Experience in Health data management in a complex health system.
Experience with Epic EMR.
Epic Certification in Clarity or Caboodle administration.
Familiar with Data Governance and Meta-Data management tools like Collibra.
Demonstrated customer service skills.
Demonstrated advanced problem-solving skills.
Critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
Experience working with others from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of project management processes.
Strong organizational skills.
Must be able to work extra hours (nights and weekends) if important development is behind schedule or the correction of problems with operational systems is considered critical. Position may require travel for training and conference attendance.
