Under minimal direction, provide multimedia systems design and integration; design and development of technology control system configuration, and software and security systems; provide overall operational integrity support for multimedia presentation technology systems in classrooms and other learning environments. Service, maintain, and repair a variety of instructional technical systems and equipment; monitor work performance for accuracy and completeness, and compliance with industry and departmental standards.
Identify, research, test, and develop innovative hardware/software solutions to enhance the functionality and reliability of technology operation and control systems. Participate in the development of short- and long-term strategic plans for control system development, analysis, and programming. Provide technical expertise, leadership, and support to CTS staff, other UITS units, and campus departments. Serve on a CTS engineering team to ensure consistency across the IUB and IUPUI campuses.
Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of applicable work experience in direct instructional systems technical support and control system programming, and two years of programming experience (such as with Crestron, XML, HTML, SIMPL).
Combinations of education and related experience may be considered.
Current ICIA-CTS certification.
Experience with multimedia and video equipment maintenance. Solid foundation with analog and digital electronics and multimedia systems, including audio and video systems technologies such as projectors and other display devices, routing systems, audio systems, echo cancellation, camera, lighting and microphone systems, and room control systems. Ability and willingness to work in a collaborative environment where knowledge, code and effort are shared among colleagues. Excellent problem solving skills. Excellent writing and communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with a wide diversity of individuals and groups. Strong customer service orientation. Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
Current certification in Crestron programming. Experience with Extron control system programming. Understanding of Ethernet, TCP/IP and other protocols.
