UC San Diego Health is seeking a Lead Analyst for Value Based Care (V.B.C.) Integrated Pop Health Applications responsible for developing and implementing new population health applications and light analytics to our members and affiliates. The Lead Analyst for Value Based Care Integrated Pop Health Applications will develop a strategy to scale our core population health products designed for Epic users face-to-face with patients to a rapidly growing data-driven, virtual, and non-Epic user and patient base.
The Lead Analyst for Value Based Care Integrated Pop Health Applications will work on a highly cohesive, dynamic, cross-functional, and multi-disciplinary team with a specific mission to develop the future tools transforming health care delivery, today. The Lead Analyst for Value Based Care Integrated Pop Health Applications reports to the Director of Value Based Care Applications & Analytics in the Information Services department and closely collaborates with executive and senior clinical/non-clincal leadership on a daily basis, including the Population Health Chief Medical Officer and the Directors of Population Health and the Physician Network.
UC San Diego Health's Value Based Care programs aim to advance the Quadruple Aim- the simultaneous improvement of patient outcomes, patient experience, provider experience, and reduction of cost of care. Insightful and timely analytics directly drives clinical and operational population health efforts to achieve all four outcomes in a program scalable in the community across county lines. Familiarity with clinically integrated affiliate networks, digital health tools, data-driven clinical quality workflows, and risk-based health plan contracts is strongly preferred.
The Lead Analyst for Value Based Care Integrated Pop Health Applications is responsible for the development of Epic-based/integrated applications and light analytics. Mastery of the Epic Ambulatory application is required with Healthy Planet, Link, MyChart, and/or Tapestry as highly preferred experience. Extensive experience in all phases of clinical application implementation are required including discovery, validation, workflow and process design, application build, application testing, integrated testing, end-user training, go-live, optimization, maintenance, and upgrade. Familiarity with EHR data models and reporting tools like Epic's Radar and Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer are also strongly preferred. Epic application certifications and proficiencies are strongly preferred and required within 4 months.
The Lead Analyst for Value Based Care Integrated Pop Health Applications is responsible for their own project plans in conjunction with the operational project managers to ensure timely and reliable product delivery. Specific duties include but are not limited to developing and maintaining project plans, directing work to other informatics', creating status reports, facilitating decisions, identifying and mitigating risks, collecting and interpreting data from various sources, presenting measure and program results to clinical and operations executives, and managing evolving technical requirements.
Leads and/or conducts the planning and implementation of clinical software, hardware, operating systems and/or distributed clinical information systems at all levels of complexity and scope. Advises peers or manages improvements in optimization and improved functionality.
Works on highly-complex initiatives to perform advanced analyses of patient care workflow and processes in various clinical departments, and to plan, develop, and define information technology solutions for improved system integration, functionality, and outcomes. Contributes to new and innovative workflows to improve operational efficiencies.
Serves as a technical leader, conducting in-depth analysis and documentation of system specifications and identifying process changes as a result of system upgrades and new releases. Leads teams and committees in developing highly-complex project plans, and provides senior staff and management with guidance and recommendations for improvements in quality, efficiency, and functionality.
