OFFICER, UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY , Solve , to focus on institutional university relationships and play a key role in deepening and expanding engagement with the MIT community and with other university members of Solve. Responsibilities include serving as primary liaison to MIT programs and initiatives to understand their work and where Solve's global community can support or engage them; identifying, piloting, planning, and implementing programs to engage MIT students in Solve activities, including internships, externships, challenge design, challenge promotion, and interaction with Solver teams; raising a prize earmarked to students who take part in Solve's yearly global challenges; working with Solve leadership to develop engagement for MIT faculty, researchers and staff, including the management of convening of faculty advisors to Solve; recruiting, managing, and retaining a network of academic institutions to create a relevant community of excellence made of diverse global leaders in higher education; brokering partnerships between Solver teams and Solve community leaders and creating partnerships to advance the growth of selected solutions; working with team members on planning and executing events; and promoting Solve Global Challenges for targeted outreach to find the most promising Solver teams.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree; at least two years' experience, including at least one managing relationships and partnerships; strong organizational skills; and ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines, take initiative, and work independently in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment. PREFERRED : master's degree in an area relevant to Solve's work, experience in a social and/or environmental impact organization, experience in sales or nonprofit development, project management training/experience, and working understanding of the MIT community.
