Bachelor's degree and four years of experience in information technology field, Associate's and six years, or combination of education and experience equal to eight years.
Experience with accessing and managing enterprise database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Unidata)
Experience with development and management of data feeds using ETL or similar tools
Application development experience using Python, Java, Ruby, .Net, or other modern programming language
Ability to work collaboratively
Capable of troubleshooting complex problems
Able to prioritize workload and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Experience with Ellucian Colleague or other student information system product
Experience programming within the Colleague Studio environment, Envision Basic, UniBasic, or equivalent
Knowledge of application life cycle and development best practices including use of code repositories, code deployment pipelines, and automated testing
Knowledge of information security best practices
Familiarity with ITIL/IT Service Management practices
About the Opportunity:
Keene State College invites applicants for an Application Developer/DBA (Database Administrator) in the Information Technology Group to provide application administration and development services related to the Keene State College Colleague student information system environment and other applications used at Keene State College and across USNH institutions.
The Information Technology Group is responsible for providing the campus with a reliable, flexible and secure technology infrastructure and the delivery of information technology services in support of academic excellence and efficient administrative services. We value customer service, partnerships, continued process improvements, project management methodologies and technical prowess. The Information Technology Group is part of the larger USNH Enterprise Technology & Support (ET&S) Organization which provides a wide range of technology services and support for the students, faculty, and staff of Keene State College and across all USNH institutions.
Reporting to the Colleague Administrator, this position develops customizations or enhancements to the student information system to meet business needs; is responsible for ongoing modifications to and configuration of the Colleague software environment including testing of all configuration and modifications during upgrade processes; manages all data feeds from the Colleague environment to other software applications; develops and maintains specialized knowledge of the complexities of application administration related to Colleague; assists with similar development-related and data-related work on other applications used either at Keene State College or at other USNH institutions; follows defined IT best practices; and participates in other technical project work as assigned.
