Reporting to the Associate Provost for Research, Professional Development and Online Learning, this position will be a partner and champion for creating excellent online and hybrid programs at Loyola Marymount University. The Director provides leadership, coordination, and project management for instructional design projects, supports faculty certification for online/hybrid teaching, and leads a highly collaborative team of instructional and media designers.
Typically a Master's degree in education, education technology, distance education, learning design, curriculum development or related area from an accredited college or university. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in higher education, technology, online content and delivery or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and managing online programs and initiatives in a higher education or related setting.
Familiarity with instructional design theory, U.S. Department of Justice requirements for accessibility of web-based content and demonstrated experience with a learning management system.
Experience with teaching online at the college level.
Experience supporting faculty and curriculum development in higher education.
