Senior Project Manager Consultant (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Boston, Massachusetts ): The Senior Project Manager will provide project management and relationship management for application and infrastructure development projects. The individual will liaise with the project sponsors, stakeholders, external vendors and other divisions within State Street to ensure the delivery of quality products within the expected timeframes and budgets. The Senior Project Manager must demonstrate leadership abilities in project prioritization, resource management, planning, scope management, and timely and effective response to project changes and risks. The individual must be able to work under minimal direction while keeping senior management apprised of issues and project status. Responsibilities include: Assist in defining project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; track project metrics to allow for the creation and consumption of needed reporting; simultaneously coordinate multiple projects with business product managers, analysts, implementation team, and infrastructure teams; develop and maintain project schedules and resource plans clearly defining dependencies; coordinate QA plans with the various testing groups; define a well-defined agile project management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for agile project management; direct activities, assign responsibilities, set contributor performance expectations, and motivate team members toward achieving project objectives; create transition plans for post development support and operations; closely monitor project resources, tasks, risks, and milestones and when necessary forecast impact on schedule, quality, and cost and make course corrections using defined change control procedures; act as SoS Scrum Master responsible for coordinating the release efforts of multiple teams focusing on deployment, release planning and facilitating the prioritization and removal of impediments; facilitate communication between internal and external resources both locally and off-shore; and mentor less experienced staff on roles and responsibilities of project management.
Minimum requirements are: Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent degree, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or a related field plus 5 years of experience in financial services Information Technology.
Must have: Proven knowledge and understanding of the software development lifecycle models; ability to effectively manage time and balance priorities across simultaneous assignments; analytical skills to interpret business and functional requirements; solid interpersonal and collaboration skills; experience in a role that required individual to be a self-starter with a desire to overcome obstacles and deliver; solid ability with web technologies and the Software Development Life Cycle; solid ability with Microsoft Office Suite of products including MS Project and Rational ClearQuest; and knowledge of alternative development frameworks (Agile, PRINCE2, etc.)(Unless otherwise indicated, State Street is seeking the ability in the skills listed above with no specific amount of years of experience required.
