Solutions Architect (Platform Engineer) (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Quincy, MA): Will help to propel Foundational Technology activities to transform IT as a whole at State Street by partnering with cross functional technology and business resources to re-architect the enterprise IT environment from the ground up using modern technology and techniques. Will leverage experience and project skills to help guide technology teams to deliver consistent, high quality results for the program and engage the business to explore, prototype, and solution business scenarios while also building out a portfolio of emerging technologies such as Cognitive Computing, Microservices and new Data Management framework. Specific responsibilities include: design and develop data warehouses and define master data and reference data stores; lead business requirements gathering, definition management efforts, and build and define requirements for the Unified Data Architecture Initiative; perform data transformation and data wrangling across multiple large, complex data sets using languages like SQL and R as well as tools like MS Excel; develop and present analytics from underlying datasets for business and client consumption; developing products and services using the most current architecture and software; assisting senior staff in directing a large technology team in the execution of the strategic vision and assuming responsibility for an individual work stream; providing support to project lead in handling complex problems and/or coordinating work in a matrix environment; tracking and directly reporting issues and risks to project manager; creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation; and providing status and related reporting to group PMO as well as senior staff.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; and 7 years of experience in Information Technology as hands-on software analyst in financial services or consulting.
Must have: proven knowledge of project management best practices; proven knowledge of data management strategies; proven prior experience working with distributed resource teams; demonstrated experience using languages and tools including SQL, R, and MS Excel; demonstrated experience with BI tools including Tableau and Qlikview; demonstrated experience defining master data and reference data stores and using database technologies including Oracle and MS SQL Server; proven ability to collaborate and to share expertise with colleagues and others while at the same time being a self-starter who works well independently; and proven solid knowledge of Computer, Network and Storage infrastructure in enterprise environments.
