The Independence School is seeking a full-time elementary science teacher. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Elementary Education or General Science Education with at least three years’ teaching experience, preferably in the elementary grades. Solid knowledge of research-based classroom practices and how to employ them is a plus. Inspiring tomorrow’s scientists, candidates should be skilled at using an inquiry based approach and guiding students to ask questions, think critically, and generate innovative ideas. Interest in using our 90-acre campus as an ideal place for investigations of real-world phenomena is essential as is competence with digital platforms, such as google for education.
