The Student Hourly Assistant, under general supervision, will assist Residential Engagement with daily operation of the Design View Media Center. The selected candidate will utilize University resources to develop high quality graphics, videos, and social media content for use by the department. This position also supports Second Year Experience, the PVAMU Badging Program, the UV HUB, and other Student Experience entities.
Utilizing computer-aided design tools (Adobe Creative Suite and similar applications) to produce graphics for print, online, digital displays, and other publications
Managing multiple design projects based in client meeting to discuss needs and delivery dates. This includes scheduling meetings for concept review and artwork drafts
Managing strategic posts to social media accounts to garner student engagement and drive traffic to websites and services
Meeting with external constituents (Marketing and Communications, Student Affairs, Student Workers, etc.) to present media campaigns and align with University brands
Required Education and Experience:
Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.
Must be in good academic standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA
No prior experience necessary
For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least six (6) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term.
