This is a full-time,12-month salary position, Monday through Friday with a flex schedule that is created around each week’s events and coverage needs. Some Sunday evening events required.
St. David’s School is seeking a full-time AV Coordinator and Content Producer who has a passion for story telling through engaging, high-quality digital photography/video and can also manage, train and run equipment for events.
The ideal candidate has a creative mindset, a strong sense of concept development, knowledge of audiovisual technology and the ability to execute projects from start to finish with a keen eye to detail.
From inside or outside of the classroom, Athletics, Fine Arts, or community events, this position would capture them through digital photography and video to be featured on our internal and external websites as well as on the school’s social media platforms. This position also manages, coordinates, oversees set up/breakdown, and runs all AV needs for major “all school” events and partners with the athletics program to photograph and write follow-up stories for the athletic pages on the external website.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Photo Journalism, or Audiovisual Communications
1-3 years in marketing, communications, journalism, photography, videography and/or audio-visual experience
Well versed in the following software programs: Final Cut Pro, Premier Pro, Premier Rush, Adobe After Effects. Media Encoder, Camera Raw, Photoshop, Lightroom, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Microsoft Teams
Knowledge of digital camera equipment, lighting and photo correction, how to compose a shot, understand framing, color and light to create visually pleasing images/video used for promotion and social media
Knowledge of AV systems/equipment is preferred, but not required
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Scheduling time inside and outside of the classroom to capture photo/video content of lessons, special events and projects for all three school divisions that will be used on social media, internal and external websites
Collaborate with the Marcom team on branded ideas to tell stories of students, faculty, staff, coaches, educational programming, parents/community and more through video
Take approved creative and format for various channels of promotion
Knowledge of social media platforms to support video content: Film and edit clips from school events to post to social media platforms and internal website
Photograph Athletic and Fine Arts events in partnership with the Social Media and Design Specialist
Run all aspects of AV for major “all school” events which includes scheduling, set up/breakdown, running AV equipment for the event and training employees on the AV systems (when needed) from start to finish
Be trained to run equipment, Microsoft Teams Live Events, lighting and classroom AV setups
Ongoing training of faculty and staff so they are equipped to run AV for in-class content, chapel, assemblies, etc. or meeting needs
When AV issues arise, troubleshoot and work with outside vendor, Provisions, to schedule maintenance
Write follow up posts for the athletic portion of the external website to accompany photography captured for that sport
Develop content strategy that is designed to inform prospective families and create an interactive relationship between St. David’s School, students, parents and alumni on stdavidsraleigh.org, social media platforms and YouTube
Collaborate with the Social Media and Design Specialists to provide photo and video content to assist in the creative design of marketing materials as well as buzzworthy/viral, thumb-stopping content for cross platforms
Enhance the St. David’s brand by partnering with the Social Media and Design Specialist to build strong online engagement
Be able to successfully collaborate with different departments to plan/schedule to attend and capture classroom lessons and events
Analyze the long-term needs of the school’s photography and video marketing and offer quarterly reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications that outline any necessary changes to the digital marketing strategy
Able to take creative direction from the Director of Marketing and Communications to create video content and image captures that inspire, inform and captivate our target audience(s)
Partner with the IT department if network or computer issues occur, outside of the AV equipment, and work toward resolution
Willingness toward continual learning to keep skills and industry knowledge current
Verbal and written communication skills are vital to working effectively with faculty and staff
Ability to multi-task and problem solve
