Ames Laboratory is seeking a Multimedia Specialist to lead efforts within the Communications Office to support the Laboratoryâs communications strategies related to scientific discovery, institutional excellence, and public outreach. Ames Laboratory is a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) funded National Laboratory operated through contractual agreement with Iowa State University (ISU).
This position serves under the direction of the Communications Manager, and performs advanced communications-related work to further Ames Laboratory, Iowa State University, and DOE mission and objectives. The position will be responsible for all aspects of photography and videography, and the development of high-quality, strategic communications content. Further, this position will manage the Laboratoryâs social media presence and publish a variety of internal and external communications.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills with innate attention to detail. Conscientious independent work habits, paired with the ability to creatively collaborate with diverse stakeholder groups, is essential for success in this role. Â The successful candidate will be able to translate complex ideas and concepts into visually appealing and informative media content.
The University is in the process of implementing a new classification and compensation structure. The impending change is expected to be completed by Fall 2020. Any P&S employee hired through this posting may be assigned a new title and associated pay grade upon the employment start date (and after the initial offer), commensurate with qualifications required for the position. The duties and responsibilities of the posted position, in addition to compensation offered, will not be affected by this process.
