We are seeking an Assistant Director, Communications and Operations who produces high-quality writing and multimedia content and manages the operations and data driven projects for all internal and external audiences in an active and collegial environment. The Assistant Director, Communications and Operations will support an integrated marketing and communications strategy for all marketing and communications projects and initiatives. As part of a communications team of three, the Assistant Director will work with the Senior Communications Manager to share Winsor’s institutional narrative for all internal and external communications, media, and news for academics, student life, development, and community events. As the school embarks on their next capital campaign, there will be exciting and key opportunities to support fundraising communications. This position is full-time and reports to the Director of Communications and Marketing.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
The Assistant Director is responsible for writing, editing, and publishing communications, managing and maintaining print and online content, and supporting all communications and marketing brand and fundraising initiatives.
Write, edit, and proofread all school communications and marketing content.
Manage, coordinate, and maintain the school’s website.
Build and publish the news and email campaigns, and support all online platforms and print publications.
Produce photo, video, social media content relevant to the current and past alum constituents.
Maintain content strategy and schedules for social media, digital marketing, and other digital platforms.
Contribute and collaborate with the Senior Communications Manager on the Winsor Bulletin, the school’s bi-annual magazine.
Work with the school archivist to support projects with historical content needs.
Support other projects as directed by the Director of Communications and Marketing.
Collaborate with the Admission Program to produce annual materials supporting the outreach work to prospective families and students.
The Assistant Director is responsible for managing the essential operational aspects of school communications operations including, but not limited to, managing all digital operations and database integrity, department workflow and processes, data analytics, project coordination, and administrative paperwork.
Manage the workflow and process for all school requests for communications and marketing.
Partner closely with the school database managers and the IT department to manage the distribution of mail files for all school communications.
Work with colleagues to support the digital and technical needs for all school communications handled in a timely and efficient manner.
Oversee, maintain, and distribute brand-consistent assets and photo/video database platforms.
Manage and direct the workflow process for various print and digital platforms and channels.
Maintain and track data and website analytics.
Handle the department’s administrative duties and budget paperwork for freelance photographers, videographers, writers, as needed.
Support administrative and operational initiatives as directed by the Director of Communications and Marketing.
