University of the Sciences (USciences) has an immediate need for a qualified candidate for the position of Copy Center Operator. The individual in this position operates the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia Copy Center, producing finished copies of requisitioner's originals in a timely manner, exercising nominal discretion in varying priorities. Functions with a detailed knowledge of departmental and institutional policies and procedures involving work performed, and follows general work instruction and standardized practices.

Receive work as paper or electronic originals via email or on digital storage media (CD, flash drive).
Review work requests for clarity of instructions, prioritizes and schedules production to accommodate customer deadlines and maintain operational efficiency.
Maintain quality control processes to ensure every print job is done on time at high quality
Organize work request forms according to priority
Operate reproduction and binding equipment; duplicate and collate copies, make necessary mechanical adjustments regarding clarity and clean copy; assure appropriate designated sequencing, and bind, if and as specified.
Make simple adjustments and repairs and call for service to sustain operating capacity of equipment.
Calculate duplicating charges and prepares month end billing report for departments and the Controller’s Office.
Monitor copy center usage, maintaining designated records.
Maintain inventory and order supplies
Educate faculty and staff about specialized work the Print Shop can produce
Develop and oversee the Print Shop budget, including monthly GL account reports
Answer the phone, deal directly with requisitioner's, provide information regarding copy center processes and capabilities and cost information and/or estimates. Make recommendations regarding such items as sequencing, set up, paper color, or related matters. Respond to minor priority problems, or refers to supervisor for resolution.
Fill in as the Mail Operator when needed – this requires familiarity with operation of postage machine and postage and parcel post services.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
High school graduate or GED
Must have ability to accomplish reading, writing and simple mathematical calculations.
Experience with duplicating, copying and binding equipment preferred.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers.
Ability to perform routing arithmetic computations.
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to operate a computer and related software.
Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
Ability to operate duplicating and binding equipment
The finalist will be required to successfully pass a background check.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Ability to use proper bending and lifting techniques to stock supplies or deliver items.
Ability to lift 30+ pounds.
Tolerance for minor environmental abnormalities such as machine generated heat/noise.
