We are looking for an Executive Level Information Services (IS) Manager to lead, supervise, and oversee the Associations information technology (IT), GIS/mapping, facilities, and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) departments. This position will work out of our Falcon office, located just east of Colorado Springs and near the base of one of the most famous American mountains, Pikes Peak, at the eastern edge of the Southern Rocky Mountains! Responsible for the integrated application of IT systems to enhance productivity and technical capabilities of the Association.
Regularly report information regarding department progress and project updates to the Board of Directors, Executive/Management Team, and Employees.
Lead, coordinate, and participate in key process improvements, including integration of departmental systems. Responsible for providing custom interfaces, custom reports or data conversion as needed.
Develop effective annual departmental budgets, work plans, and capital purchases. Assist with long-term financial forecasting, including cost of service studies, and rate analysis.
Recommend development and implementation of Information Services policies.
Plan, assign, and direct work to ensure timely completion of projects.
Evaluate changing technology and make recommendations to improve organization efficiency.
Continually improve the integrity of the Associations data and network infrastructure including cyber security, vulnerability management, intrusion detection, and incident response.
Develop and test the IS Business Continuity Plan including server backups, offsite data storage, and disaster recovery.
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in a related field; or ten years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ten years of progressively responsible IT experience, including leadership, supervisory responsibility and project management.
Solid knowledge and understanding of the utility industry, cooperative principles, motivational and positive leadership, customer service, Information Technology, and Cyber Security.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing, with Association employees, members, vendors, and contractors. Must project a professional image and possess the ability to facilitate and make presentations to large groups.
Extensive knowledge of project management and communication/conflict skills. Ability to maintain effective working relationships, and utilize creative thinking and problem-solving techniques.
Excellent information systems skills, with the ability to clearly understand the Association needs, how various functions and systems (IS, GIS, OMS, voice communication, metering, etc.) integrate, and impact the overall effective and efficient operation of the Association.
Proven success in motivating and leading others within a team environment. Skilled in the proper techniques of interviewing, hiring, coaching, appraising performance, disciplining, and other supervisory skills.
