The University of Cincinnati seeks to hire an Executive Director to lead the UC Real Estate Center. The UC Real Estate Center has an established national reputation for excellence in its academic programs, research, and professional outreach. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic leadership team focused on growing the impact and presence of the Center and academic program on a national stage as the University embarks on its Next Lives Here Capital Campaign. The UC Real Estate Center is located within the nationally ranked Lindner College of Business and this position combines the opportunity to coordinate the interaction of real estate industry leaders, government officials, faculty, and university students. The Executive Director will report to the Head of the Department of Finance and the Associate Dean for Impact and Partnerships. The position is for 30 hours per week (75% FTE), and includes health and other benefits. The term is for two years and is renewable subject to satisfactory job performance and funding.
Activities and Responsibilities:
The Executive Director will be responsible for the following activities:
Enhance the reputation of the UC Real Estate Center at the local, national, and international level by cultivating relationships, delivering impactful content, and assisting students to have successful careers upon graduation.
Lead the cultivation and maintenance of relationships with new and existing corporate partners and the Board of Executive Advisors in Real Estate (BEARE) members to grow the financial support for the Real Estate Center and Program.
Work with the Head of the Department of Finance and Academic Director of the Real Estate Program to develop a 5-year strategic plan aligning with the goals and objectives of the University of Cincinnati’s Next Lives Here Capital Campaign.
Manage the staff and budget of the UC Real Estate Center to execute the adopted strategic plan. These activities may require occasional travel and work on nights and weeks, and will include:
Working with the Real Estate Executive Advisory Committee (REEAC) to produce monthly roundtable meetings from September to May, and an annual awards dinner the beginning of June.
Promotion of the academic real estate program to current and future students.
Developing high-quality professional development seminars and programs to advance the careers of alumni and local industry participants.
It may be possible for someone holding this position to participate directly in classroom education through an affiliated adjunct professor role in the Lindner College of Business. Such responsibilities will be treated separately from this role and will be negotiated directly with the Academic Director of Real Estate and Head of the Finance Department. Such a role may include service on Lindner College committees dealing with teaching and academic program development.
Master’s degree with five (5) years experience; -OR-Bachelor’s degree with seven (7) years experience; -OR Associate’s degree with nine (9) year’s experience; -OR- eleven (11) years experience. Experience must be related to areas of responsibilities.
A suitable candidate will have an advanced degree in finance, real estate or business administration, and have at least 10 years of professional experience in a commercial real estate related industry.
An ideal candidate would have excellent written and verbal communication skills, work in collaborative teams, and be able to develop and maintain professional relationships with partners in the academic and business community.
