Job Description Role / Responsibilities This role will work with the Research Group writer and other staff, providing writing and editing expertise for white papers, journal articles, presentations, and other related content related to climate risk research and modeling.
Partner with the Research Group to provide integrated writing and editing expertise for white papers, articles, presentations, web-based content, and other related written collateral focused on climate risk/ESG-related research that support the Research Group.
Interpret and translate text from analytical research staff and rewrite in a clear and concise style for wide dissemination to clients and public through print, web, and social media channels.
Lead in the creation of white papers and other written materials to ensure readability and consistency of message and tone.
Manage queue of ongoing projects and papers and f ollow best practices and framework for the overall editing and writing process and suggest process improvements.
Ensure that research materials are client-ready and of publishable quality.
Encourage and propose research ideas.
Build strong relationships with researchers; proactive in developing relationships across the various teams within the department
Advanced, second-level degree (e.g., Masters' degree) in English, journalism, writing, or related field.
Interest in and experience writing about climate risk/ESG-related subjects, concepts, and research.
Additional training in Economics and/or Finance preferred.
5+ years of professional writing experience in science, financial services, or related industry.
Ability to translate complex ideas into compelling, audience-appropriate communications.
Excellent project management and organizational abilities; ability to work independently and manage multiple projects while meeting rigorous deadlines in a remote office environment.
Demonstrated ability to translate technical research for a non-technical audience
Superior writing and editing skills.
Proven ability to write about complex concepts in a coherent and concise style.
Adept at managing multiple writing projects concurrently and flexible enough to alter plans as deadlines/priorities change.
Ability to write and edit based on different style requirements and audiences, beginning with a variety of source materials, including presentations, articles, interviews, data/charts, etc.
Experience using various text editing tools and style templates, as well as Excel, Mathtype, Confluence, and Adobe PDF Editor.
Demonstrate confidence and professional maturity in participating in written reviews and responding to constructive feedback.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
