As part of our team, you will support the learning management infrastructure here at Northwestern University, enabling instructors to use the tools that fit their educational goals.
Your day-to-day work will involve answering support tickets; interacting with colleagues, faculty, and vendors; participating in testing and technology pilots. You will contribute to communication efforts to keep faculty and staff up-to-date on the dynamic instructional landscape. You will tackle problems, take an experimental approach, and scout out new solutions.
As you will directly interact with users of varying skill levels, we're looking for someone with excellent relationship-building skills and a good communication toolkit.
We regularly review and improve our technology portfolio, so we need you to have experience leading and participating in projects. In addition, our dynamic environment moves quickly due to the wide set of technologies and people that we support, so you will need to move comfortably between projects and tasks as required.
Job Summary: Provide support for the LMS and other educational technologies; interact with vendors; participate in testing and pilots. This position reports to the Lead Learning Technologist/TLT Platform Support Svcs Lead.

Act as Tier 3 support for the LMS and associated tools, whether developed at the university or by a commercial vendor.
Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
Provide documentation to users, as well as for Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support regarding the LMS and learning apps.
Participate in testing of LMS updates.
Participate in testing and pilots of learning apps and other teaching tools.
Provide advice on LTI tools or learning apps that work with the LMS. Work to ensure that the LMS and learning apps work properly together.
Participate in communication with the LMS and learning app vendors.
Monitor the system and respond to alerts.
Performs other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in any field.
1-3 years’ experience with an LMS.
1-3 years’ experience in an institution of higher education.
Broad knowledge of software and cloud systems.
Understanding of security for university systems, as well as authentication, authorization, and data security.
Understanding of web accessibility standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
