Cognizant Technology Solutions is seeking a Regional Ethics & Compliance Senior Manager based in Singapore to support our Ethics & Compliance (E&C) program in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, as well as our corporate E&C program. The APAC E&C Senior Manager will be an attorney with E&C experience reporting to our Global Growth Markets (GGM) Regional Ethics & Compliance Officer (RECO). He or she will also work closely with the colleagues across the world on our global E&C team, as well as colleagues in the business, Legal, Procurement, Internal Audit, and other functions, to assist with the coordination and management of our E&C efforts, with emphasis on anti-corruption compliance across the APAC region.
Serve as the primary E&C point of contact in the APAC region.
Develop and maintain relationships with business and functional leadership across APAC to understand the business and advise on risks and controls to mitigate risks.
Provide E&C advice and counsel regarding contractual clauses and certifications.
Monitor developments in regional regulatory and legislative change and best practices and assist in advising the wider organization on necessary organizational changes required.
Support the GGM RECO and E&C team in conducting anti-corruption and other due diligence reviews for third parties in APAC, participate in cross-functional efforts to streamline and expedite processes impacting or interfacing with due diligence processes, and coordinate with other functions to address issues impacting diligence reviews.
Assist with monitoring, internal audits, and other reviews of our E&C policies and procedures in the region and the implementation of any actions flowing therefrom.
Provide counsel and support to the business for new client opportunities, strategic alliances, partnerships, subcontractor relationships, etc., and to individuals in the region on questions related to E&C policies and procedures, including gifts & entertainment, charitable contributions, referrals, compliance with anti-corruption laws, etc.
Prepare and conduct (live and web-based) E&C training to employees in APAC and globally.
Support the GGM RECO and E&C team in conducting merger and acquisition due diligence and integrating acquired businesses.
Collaborate with GGM RECO and our E&C Communications Office to suggest country-specific communications, assist where needed with the translation of materials, and assist with the establishment and support of a regional communications network.
Coordinate and assist in conducting Regional Compliance Committee meetings in APAC.
Coordinate and conduct E&C Roadshows and Townhalls across APAC.
Skills & Experience
Juris Doctorate or similar local legal degree required.
5+ years of post-qualification experience (preferably with Ethics & Compliance in APAC).
Familiarity with international anti-bribery and corruption compliance programs, ideally with experience working in a large international (particularly US-headquartered) organization or law firm.
Highly-motivated, proactive self-starter with excellent judgment, professional maturity, flexibility, and confidence.
Project management experience, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and to manage multi-task, multi-deadline projects effectively and on time.
Ability to project authority and influence senior management and individuals across multiple cultures, disciplines, and geographies.
Possess a strong "client first" mentality.
Ability to fit into a team-oriented environment and also work individually.
Works well under pressure with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, while maintaining a sense of humor.
