You bring your body, mind, heart and spirit to your work as a Radiology Technologist.
Your compassion is tangible: patients feel it in the hand they hold. Families feel it in your prayers. Colleagues feel it in your support.
Youâ™re generous with your thoughts, your partnerships and especially your voice, because your opinion matters.
Youâ™re great at what you do, but you want to be part of something even greater. Because you believe that while individuals can be strong, the right team is invincible.
Lutheran Medical Center is part of SCL Health, a faith-based, nonprofit healthcare organization that focuses on person-centered care. Our 249-bed community-based hospital provides comprehensive, specialty care to the poor, the vulnerable, our communities and each other. Dating back to 1905, we are proud of the rich history and inspiring mission our hospital has embodied for over 110 years.
Benefits are one of the ways we encourage health for you and your family. Our generous package includes medical, dental and vision coverage. But health is more than a well-working body: it encompasses body, mind and social well-being. To that end, weâ™ve launched a Healthy Living program to address your holistic health. Healthy Living includes financial incentives, digital tools, tobacco cessation, classes, counseling and paid time off. We also offer financial wellness tools and retirement planning.
Together weâ™ll align mission and careers, values and workplace. Weâ™ll encourage joy and take pride in our integrity.
Weâ™ll laugh at each otherâ™s jokes (even the bad ones). Weâ™ll hello and high five. Weâ™ll celebrate milestones and acknowledge the value of spirituality in healing.
Weâ™re proud of what we know, which includes how much there is to learn.
As a Radiology Technologist you need to know how to:
Produce x-ray images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist ensuring clear and undistorted films. Position and instruct patients regarding x-ray procedures.
Perform x-ray procedures using portable machine as requested by Emergency Department and nursing units.
Process films for radiologists reading/interpretation following established procedures.
Communicate with patients, families, healthcare team members, and physicians both in-person and via telephone.
Maintain X-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; ensure preventative maintenance is performed on a regularly scheduled basis; contact outside service for major malfunctions according to established guidelines.
Promote effective working relations and work effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intra-departmentally to facilitate that departmentâ™s/unitâ™s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:
High School diploma or equivalent, required
Successful completion of an approved radiological training program and the ability to meet the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required
Current license/certification in the state of practice, required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required
At least one (1) year of diagnostic radiology experience, preferred
Your next move.
Now that you know more about being a Radiology Technologist on our team we hope youâ™ll join us. At SCL Health youâ™ll reaffirm every day how much you love this work, and why you were called to it in the first place.
