You and your role
Agile Delivery is about delivering the right outcomes for our users through our product development. We work with, guide and coach cross-functional teams using agile principle. We work in a challenging and complex domain, developing products and services that touch millions of lives, while also building the foundation for future ways of working across all of government.
As a Senior Agile Delivery Manager you will enable the effective delivery of complex, high risk digital products and services often delivered by multiple teams using agile techniques. You will be build and maintain these teams. You are accountable for the performance of these teams and also for the performance of other Agile Delivery Managers.
You will have a good understanding of Digital strategy, solutions architecture, software engineering, business operational process design, non-digital artefact design (e.g. paper forms), user research, user experience design and aspects of policy development, so you can dynamically manage complex delivery across multiple teams at task and theme level.
You are an experienced leader and advocate for advanced agile/lean techniques and will ensuring delivery teams and Agile Delivery Managers are empowered to self-organise effectively.
To be successful, you'll need to demonstrate these key skills:
Planning, team dynamics and collaboration * Leads a continual planning process in a very complex environment. * Identifies problems or issues in the team dynamic and rectifies them.
Agile and lean practices, effective communication and making the process work * Creates new ways of working and is always innovating. * Identifies and challenges organisational processes of increasing complexity and those processes that are unnecessarily complicated. * Communicates metrics such as team health and the product delivery in a user-friendly way.
Maintaining delivery momentum and lifecycle perspective * Identifies innovative ways to unblock issues. * Recognises when it's right to move forward and when it's right to stop.
Commercial management and financial management * Reports on financial delivery. * Acts as the escalation point and resolves large or high risk commercial management issues.
