Provide network planning recommendations to management.
Possess strong knowledge of Network and System Monitoring utilizing SNMP & other technologies.
Assess network performance to ensure that it meets the present and future needs of the business.
Have outstanding client-facing communications and troubleshooting skills.
Be detail orientated with the discipline to do proper documentation for all projects.
Have a deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
Provide expertise in deploying, configuring, and managing firewalls.
Exhibit project management skills, tracking and reporting on projects with defined timelines and expected results and performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by the department head.
Participate in and lead aspects of major network/system installations and upgrades to include deploying switches, routers, fiber patch panels.
Interface with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
Participate in on-call duty as required.
High school graduate, an associate degree is required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Will consider the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ten (10) years of network and/or system administration experience required. Should be knowledgeable in Network topologies, specifically IEEE 802.x standards. A CCNA, network + or related certification is desirable.Experience managing layer II and layer III networks.

Must have the ability to clearly and concisely communicate exchanging information with position's supervisor, employees, customers and the general public.
Must have and maintain a valid North Carolina driver's license and operate a motorized vehicle without the assistance of another employee.
Must be able to read schematics and follow verbal and written instructions.
Must be able to operate a telephone, two-way radio, and necessary laboratory equipment required to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Must have the ability to climb ladders, stoop and bend into awkward positions to accomplish assigned responsibilities.
Works inside and outside. Will be exposed to varying weather conditions.
Must be able to lift/carry and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
Must make and maintain bona fide residential abode within thirty (35) statute miles of assigned office.
Must be able to work on a regular and predictable basis.
