Specialist- Curriculum Development, Director of MSU Debate Program: Oversees a nationally competitive debate program to ensure long term sustainability and inclusive excellence. Responsible for administering the overall Debate Program and the Spartan Debate Institute (SDI), a large summer high school debate institute. This includes, but is not limited to: recruitment for the debate team (which may be done in coordination with or delegated to the head debate coach); budget management; coordination with the college’s director of development on matters related to debate alumni relations/development; curriculum development and implementation for the SDI; oversight of the SDI, outreach to diverse and underserved communities; leveraging resources to help advance digital debate leadership and other opportunities and innovations in debate; and overseeing other operational and administrative functions associated with the Debate Program. This is a 12-month, continuing system appointment and the director of the debate program reports directly to the dean of the MSU Honors College. This position is a part of the leadership team within the Honors College, with the expectation of active, on-going and sustained participation in college level deliberations and programmatic initiatives to ensure overall student success.
Masters -Open to all fields
Area of Study: open to all fields, preference for Political Science, Communications, Education or related fields.
Substantial experience participating or coaching CEDA/NDT policy debate, administrative experience; doctoral degree preferred as well.
