Cernostics, Inc is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technician at our laboratory in Pittsburgh, PA. The purpose of the role is to assist with laboratory duties related to tissue-based cancer diagnostic testing. The successful candidate will perform accessioning, preparation of reagents, multiplexed immunofluorescence slide labeling, digital slide imaging and image analysis, and cell culture according to established protocols. The focus of this job is on producing high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines and procedures. Precise, consistent work output is essential, requiring patience, cooperation with colleagues, a willingness to handle repetitive job routines, and a commitment to delivering error-free work. This position is designed to develop a valued technical expert, who can consistently deliver quality laboratory work. Position Responsibilities: • Accessioning and handling of specimens, and transmission of results to clients • Laboratory maintenance, including environmental monitoring, inventory and ordering lab supplies, and equipment maintenance according to established procedures. • Conduct tests on patient samples using Cernostics proprietary tools and established protocols, including preparation of laboratory reagents, immunofluorescence labeling of tissue slides, digital slide imaging and image analysis. • Cell culture • Other laboratory duties as assigned
The candidate of choice will have: • B.S. or Associates Degree in the Life Sciences • Outstanding written and oral communication and organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail • Strong ability to work in a technical, team-oriented, standard operating procedure-driven environment
Preferred Skills: • Specific experience with immunohistochemistry, histology stains, microscopy, cell culture • 2+ years experience in clinical laboratory, Biopharma, or academic research laboratory
