The primary responsibility of this position is to design, develop, and test electronic circuits for an innovative, high-technology engineering firm. The work involves generating circuit and board design files and documents using Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools for schematic, assembly, and fabrication drawings. Circuit designs include analog, digital, mixed analog and digital, power, RF, and FPGA circuit designs. PCB layouts are created for standard and dense, high-speed, multi-layer, digital, analog and power electronics boards and assistance is provided to electrical and mechanical engineers to identify and resolve design and packaging issues. The successful candidate will contribute to complex technical aspects of a project and the work is generally both independent and collaborative in nature.
Very good organizational skills, comfort with multi-tasking, strong attention to detail, and fast learning are required to successfully complete projects that each offer unique challenges. An electronics technology or associate’s degree and strong desire to do circuit and PCB design work is preferred, otherwise 5 or more years of experience in electronic circuit or PCB design is required. Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout in OrCAD, Mentor Graphics, or Altium is a plus but not required.
