The Department of Enrollment Management at IU Fort Wayne encompasses admissions, student financial services, registrar, advising, and student success. Enrollment Management develops and implements strategies that leads to the campus' viability. We do this from the perspective of enhancing the experience of our students from the point of recruitment through graduation.
This position provides recruitment for Indiana University Fort Wayne Health Science programs, and its other academic programs in Fort Wayne, Ohio, and Michigan. This position fulfills a critical need building relationships with guidance counselors year round and increasing interest from high school and transfer students in these key markets. The office is seeking a candidate to be a member of our student-centered team to recruit, manage the funnel process, and evaluate yields of the approximately 15,000 applications received each year.
Recruitment and Territory Management:
Recruitment primarily in the Fort Wayne, Ohio and Michigan territories, but can include other travel markets. Extensive automobile and some overnight travel is required. Some weekend assignments required.
Conduct presentations for school groups, parents, college fairs, and other appropriate entities to provide information to prospective students about IUPUI, including areas of admissions standards, transfer processes, academic programs, college life and student support.
Coordinate application completion activities with students, university offices and individual academic units.
Support and assist the Associate Director for Recruitment and Outreach with the development of a recruitment plan and recruitment initiatives for assigned territory that meet the college's enrollment goals.
Communicate in person, by telephone and in writing with students about status of admission applications and respond to inquiries, as well as offer solutions to applicant problems and requests regarding admission via telephone and in writing.
Assist with the active, systematic, and aggressive recruitment programs to meet established targets/goals for the student population.
Identify, evaluate, and implement as appropriate national best practices pertaining to student success, credential achievement, transfer and degree completion to achieve enrollment goals.
Collaborative Strategy Development:
Assist the campus visits team to create a welcoming experience for campus guests during small and large-scale events to provide effective customer service and student support.
Organize and implement aspects of large, multi-departmental special events utilizing presentation and promotional materials.
Work with on-campus constituents to coordinate recruitment, outreach and visit strategies for targeted student markets.
Coordinate and execute location based recruitment events, receptions and campus visitation programs.
Develop knowledge of the territory and needs of the institution in connecting with groups in the recruitment territory.
Proactively communicate with the groups and institutions to facilitate opportunities for collaboration, enrollment expansion, and program development.
Collaborate with various communities to develop relationships with community leaders.
Work collaboratively across campus and among academic departments to define and meet enrollment goals.
Attend and/or present at national recruitment fairs and conferences. Host online and onsite visits.
Serve on University committees, task forces and work groups, as needed.
Use data to design and implement unique recruitment and yield strategies for students in distinct groups through each stage in the admissions funnel to define strategies and assess effectiveness of initiatives.
Analyze data to develop summaries and reports that advise senior leadership on recommendations for future strategic directions.
Leverage technology to effectively manage inquiry, admissions, and enrollment pipelines.
Develop proficiency in Salesforce report generation and usage to track recruitment statistics and recommend improvements to the recruitment process.
Based on data-analysis and ongoing monitoring of recruitment funnel trends, coordinate follow up campaigns.
Manage the strategy and logistics of recruitment and yield initiatives, utilizing creative and innovative approaches to maximize effectiveness of limited resources.
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and three years of relevant experience in recruitment, admissions, and diversity.
Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University.
Ability to maintain an established work schedule, including some evenings and weekends with the ability to load and transport admissions materials, displays and other equipment. Strong organizational, planning, and problem solving skills, including focused attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as work in a collaborative manner. Familiarity with public speaking and delivering effective presentations. Familiarity with a CRM contact management software. Knowledge of applicant-life-cycle data strategies and marketing/recruitment best practices for admissions recruitment. Experience with diverse and multicultural communities and student populations.
Master's degree. Degree in a liberal arts discipline. Experience in higher education. Knowledge of transfer students, transfer strategies, special populations and needs. Experience in enrollment management, admission, and student services. Efficiency in database systems and student information systems. Experience working Salesforce constituent relationship management systems.
