The University of the Incarnate Word is searching for a Graduate Assistants for the following athletic positions:
Marketing and Fan Engagement - two (2) openings
External Relations (development) - one (1) opening
Video Production - one (1) opening
MARKETING AND FAN ENGAGEMENT
The Graduate Assistant for Athletics Marketing and Fan Engagement assists with game management, fan engagement, marketing, development/booster club, in-game promotions, etc. Graduate assistants are often assigned specific sports to oversee the marketing, fan engagement, script writing, music, in-game entertainment, etc. for that sport.
-Marketing specific programs or events, including planning, designing (or coordinating with graphic design team) of schedule posters and flyers, and follow-up after event. -Soliciting groups for games, creating theme nights for games, etc. -Overseeing and managing aspects of fan engagement including game script writing, music selection and playing, in-game entertainment, national anthem singers, and other entertainment at games and events. -Perform other duties as assigned.
-Assist with administrative work, stewardship responsibilities, donor deposits, management of UIW Athletics Cardinals Club memberships, social media, keynotes lead, set up and break down of events, and organizing UIW Athletics Cardinals Club events. -Assist with all sponsor proposals and contract, implementing sponsorship benefits, assistance with day to day responsibility with all the athletic sponsorship and sponsorship management. -Perform other duties as assigned.
The Graduate Assistant for Video Production’s primary responsibility is to shoot video and edit it for use for the department of athletics. The content may be posted to live streams, social media, digital signage, marketing materials, and/or other promotional initiatives. The Video Production Assistant is part of the Media Relations team.
-Assist with video streaming of games and special events. -Assist with video board productions for football. -Assist with social media in-game highlights and pre-production elements; -Assist in the creation of highlight videos for social media purposes following all football games and select games for other sports. -Assist in the production of on-demand videos such as UIW’s Coaches Show; -Help produce video feature stories. -Other functions can include graphic design, photography, and audio capturing work. -Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED: - One (1) year of work, volunteering, internship, etc. in a professional or collegiate sports environment
- Self-starter with the ability to work without supervision - Strong communication skills - Ability to make responsible decisions and problem solve - Working knowledge of collegiate sports - Ability to work nights and weekends - Ability and willingness to commute for project and duties assigned - Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA
PREFERRED: - Experience in graphic design, video editing, photography, camera operation, Adobe Creative Cloud, video cameras, Tri-Caster, or 3 Play - Proficiency in Microsoft Office products - Experience in Photoshop and InDesign - Experience in Final Cut Pro
-Candidates awaiting acceptance into a UIW graduate program will be considered; however, if selected, a conditional offer will be extended until enrollment into a graduate program has been finalized
Additional Salary Information: This graduate assistant position covers up to 12 hours per year in tuition. Housing is not included, but significantly discounted housing is available through our sponsor, Tobin Lofts.
