What will you be doing in this role?
The Senior Network Engineer performs a broad variety of technical engineering support, design, architecture for monitoring and managing the Health Systems data infrastructure and systems.
Summary of Essential Job Duties:
Leads the technical engineering planning, design and architecture for monitoring and managing a global healthcare network, security and wireless infrastructure.
Create and maintain documentation, maintain hardware and software standards, and evaluate new products and solutions related to business requirements.
Develop and modify technology networks, addressing functional, performance, security, quality, operations and monitoring needs in an efficient and productive manner.
Participates in the evaluation of new applications for the Health System, determines their effect on the existing network and systems infrastructure and perimeter; recommends and may oversee any necessary operational or security enhancements.
Works jointly with user project managers and other IT groups to successfully implement projects.
Liaise with contractors and vendors to ensure the integrity and security of the network environments.
Participates or collaborates in policy creation, performing periodic security reviews of existing information systems, and assisting in the requirements and solution definition process for new CSHS information systems.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring of other engineers including the quality review and engineering decisions of their work.
Assists in the identification and resolution of network related hardware and software technical problems and malfunctions.
Promotes governance and compliance with security standards, policies and procedures as well as maintain the Health Systems network security infrastructure with respects to functionality, performance, scalability, process, and reliability.
Stays current with industry trends and technology advances in the area of Information Technology.
Attends training and educational seminars as required.
Provides support as part of on-call scheduling rotation among team members.
