The Program Manager will work to advance NRPA’s mission, vision and strategic initiatives by providing program, grant management and content knowledge on equitable access to quality recreation programs and facilities including system-wide program planning and policy, youth sports and inter-generational programming strategies for park and recreation professionals. This position is responsible for the direct management of grant funded projects and NRPA initiatives including grant planning and execution to meet project goals, grant communications, technical assistance and professional development, evaluation, resource development, and reporting. This position is fully grant funded and supports donor and partner relationships to include direct communication, sharing grant progress and updates, participating in and leading partner calls.

You will be a key member of our Programs and Partnership team and report to the Director of Park Access. The Programs & Partnerships team at NRPA works to improve quality of life through local parks and recreation across three pillars: health and wellness, conservation and equity.
Specific Responsibilities Include: · Serve as content manager at NRPA on equitable access to quality recreation facilities and programs including system-wide program planning and policy, youth sports and intergenerational programming strategies for park and recreation professionals.
· Lead and co-manage grant funded projects that include components of training and technical assistance, data collection and analysis, resource development, communications, and partnership building.
· Develop communications including, creating content for articles, blog posts, presentations, website updates, management of networks and peer learning groups, etc.
· Provide customer service, including the provision of superior technical assistance to grantees and regular communications with members.
· Manage project budgets including tracking expenses and revenue, processing payments, and providing input on budget creation.
· Support donor and partner related communications to including sharing grant progress and updates, reporting, participating in and leading partner calls.
· Represent NRPA at conferences, meetings and site visits with local park and recreation agencies.
· Collaborate with all NRPA departments to maximize the value of each project within the Programs & Partnerships portfolio.
· Establish and maintain partnerships with local, state, national and federal organizations to implement project deliverables and advance NRPA’s strategic plan.
· Undertake special projects and assignments as directed.
· Monitor trends across the park and recreation field related to NRPA’s strategic priorities

· Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or continued education equivalent or industry certification or equivalent
· Five or more years of experience in a related field (parks and recreation, youth sports, public health, social services, etc.).
· Passionate and highly motivated to impact equitable access to high quality recreation programs and facilities, health equity, youth sports, and/or social justice.
· Excellent project management skills including an ability to organize, coordinate and prioritize activities efficiently and effectively. Experience using project management software or the willingness to learn.
· Excellent written and oral communication to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels, including members, partners and donors.
· Experience incorporating the perspectives of diverse communities, including communities of color, in the consideration of impacts and outcomes of a decision-making process.
· Interest and willingness to facilitate meetings, training and professional development opportunities, and present on behalf of NRPA at conferences, meetings.
