The Digital Communications Specialist is responsible for planning, developing, and executing integrated internet, company intranet, and social media programs. A perfect candidate for this position will use best practices and techniques to increase EnergyUnited’s visibility, presence, and interaction with its members, customers, employees and social communities/followers. This position is based in Statesville, NC with the ability to work both in the office and remotely as approved by the hiring manager and is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Normal Day-to-Day Work • Create, post, and manage content on corporate website, intranet, social media platforms and a social business platform. • Maintain and monitor social media platforms utilizing social media tools and responds to inquiries using these tools. • Monitor, interpret, and report web analytics. • Create and publish monthly digital employee slideshow. • Create and publish data slides for communications department on a monthly basis. • Serves as a member of the Data Review & Implementation Team, providing assistance for quarterly reports • Develop and execute web-related projects across internal departments. • Write original copy of web, social media postings, and related marketing pieces, optimized for web readability, reading level, audience, and search engines. • Collaborate on web communication strategies and solutions related to digital marketing and public relations. • Serve as a member of the crisis communications team, including updating and monitoring the social media channels.
Job Qualifications - Here are a few skills you MUST have to be considered for this position. • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, PR, or related field. Directly related experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. • Three years of experience in communications or website design and internet publishing experience in corporate communications, PR/advertising agency or related environment. • Three years of experience of significant involvement in the use of social media. • Previous experience using a Content Management System as well as corporate experience with social media. • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. • Possess and maintain a valid NC Driver’s License. • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required. • Demonstrated organizational skills as well as possess the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet critical deadlines. • Ability to understand industry concepts and write about them clearly and concisely. • Attention to detail and accuracy. Must possess a very conscientious attitude toward record keeping.• Successful track record managing time and workload effectively with colleagues to accomplish common objectives. • Be a self-starter with a positive attitude of neatness, timeliness, orderliness, and accuracy. • Be available to work and posting on social media during adverse weather conditions or during large storms/outages which could include early morning & evening hours. • Ability to maintain confidentiality. • Domicile must be within one of the nineteen counties served by the Cooperative or within a 40 (forty) road mile radius to any EnergyUnited EMC office.
