Directs and coordinates the daily administrative activities of OARnet, in accordance with the policies, goals, and objectives established by the Executive Director, OARnet and the OARnet Executive Management Team. As a self-starter with the ability to operate with a high level of autonomy, responsible for the effective administrative operations of OARnet including, project and task tracking; responsible for organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments; assists the leadership team in setting the strategic direction and defining priorities for the organization.
Evaluates and updates organizational metrics; creates management reports for OARnet co-operatively with senior staff and business office on business metrics. Supports performance evaluations for OARnet Executive Management team and reports on performance management. Initiates and develops administrative procedures; supervises administrative staff and students. Facilitates the development and execution of OARnet's communication strategies. Supports marketing/outreach activities for OARnet, including documenting and sharing success stories in coordination with client services and OH-TECH Communications group. Initiates and fosters important professional relationships and serves as a point of contact for key constituents and will establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with the following in alignment with OARnet's strategic plan: OARnet members, partners and collaborators, Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE), Department of Administrative Services/Office of Information Technology (DAS/OIT), Management Council of the Ohio Education Computer Network (MCOECN), State and Local Governments, Healthcare entities, The Quilt, Internet2, R&E networks, National Science Foundation. Liaises with other university and ODHE stakeholders and participates in various committees.
Coordinates tactical planning and management of internal communications for advisory groups, governing board and other stakeholders, major meeting planning and management. Provides staff infrastructure support; performs office space management and assignment in conjunction with client services and consortia services. Serves as backup for staff travel. Prepares Executive Management Team for discussions and reporting to governing or advisory boards, constituent bodies on major policy initiatives and direction, and high priority meetings. Ensures Executive Director is well prepared for interactions and meetings with stakeholders and partners. Manages information of a highly sensitive nature; researches information and provides guidance on pertinent issues; works on special projects and confidential assignments. Assesses inquiries and concerns directed to OARnet or the Executive Director, determining course of action and delegates to the appropriate person to manage. Manages calendar and scheduling for OARnet Executive Director and members of the Executive Team. Position is often required to be accessible via phone when not in the office and have internet access to perform certain work duties from home; other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or communications or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in high profile executive support; experience in project management, resource planning and personnel operations; excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
Master’s degree in related field. Work experience in higher education and public administration; experience with technology based organization, preferably in network operations; technology based customer service experience; experience in managing support staff and supporting multiple, high-level executives; ability to research; strong organizational and writing skills.
Target Salary: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 Annually
