Director, Graduate Programs Systems, Operations and Data Analytics - College of Business & Economics 14947
The John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University is seeking applications for a Director, Graduate Programs Systems, Operations and Data Analytics. This position is responsible for the oversight of the data systems in the Graduate Programs office. The incumbent will also serve as point of contact within the college for troubleshooting on issues related to the graduate programs.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Supervise the Assistant Director of Advising and Student Services and the Ph.D Administrator.
Ensure that all student systems data bases are accurately maintained.
Create automatic triggering of the advising function to deliver the timely issuance of probations and suspension letters based upon academic program guidelines matched to student criteria.
Ensure that dual degree programs, areas of emphasis, certificates and new programs are properly implemented in the CIM system as well as accurately represented in the University catalog.
Ensure that data requirements are accurate in the University TargetX systems.
Analyze and maintain data and effects reports that ensure the academic integrity of programs including faculty evaluation and program assessment and exit interviews.
Work with graduate programs coordinators to capture appropriate AOL data for the continuous improvement of existing Master's programs in concert with the strategic plans of the College and the University.
Oversight of Graduate Programs advising personnel to ensure that the graduation certification process is fully accurate for graduate programs.
Work on the scheduling process to ensure that all Program Coordinators have scheduled the appropriate fall, winter or summer classes and that these are staffed. Make sure overload contracts are issued, accurately, if appropriate.
Management of relevant statistical data and reports on enrollment trends and student retention.
Complete all appropriate surveys for accrediting and ranking bodies, including US News
Support the re-accreditation efforts with AACSB and other accrediting bodies.
Work with Associate Dean of Graduate Programs, Research and Academic Operations to assist in monitoring and control of the budget.
Oversee and ensure the provision of logistical and administrative support to the College's Ph.D. programs.
Deploy and oversee new Salesforce.com or similar database for communications planning with graduate student applicants.
Prepare reports for the College's Board of Advisors.
Work with the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs, the Graduate Programs Office team and appropriate University personnel, serving as a resource to resolve student issues, problems and academic integrity problems.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Master's degree in education, business, administration, data analytics, information systems or related field. Ph.D preferred.
Five (5) years of professional business/industry experience required, including budget management, profit and loss analysis and marketing expertise.
Five (5) years of experience in mid-level employee management expertise.
Five (5) years of recruiting, corporate relations, or related area preferred.
Five (5) years of professional supervisory experience preferred.
Extensive knowledge of university systems such as Argos enterprise reporting, IPEDS data, Banner, Salesforce.com, Blackboard, and other university systems tools.
Higher level capabilities with tools such as Microsoft Teams, Excel, Access and Microsoft Project.
Ability and interest to be innovative, strategic and thoughtful about multiple constituents and projects.
Familiarity with project management and database systems.
Higher-level, demonstrated capabilities with tools such as dashboards, Salesforce.com, Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Access and Microsoft Project.
Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships with multiple diverse professional constituencies.
Flawless attention to detail and accuracy.
Proven self-starter with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to navigate the corporate structure of fortune 500 companies and larger organizations and to interface with corporate executives providing superior professional representation of the college.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including skill in large group presentations.
Strong ability to function in a computerized environment, including Banner, Degree Works, budgeting software, Access, Salesforce.com, spreadsheets, word processing, database management, internet and email.
High level, superior customer service experience including the ability to independently solve complex and time sensitive problems.
Ability to maintain composure, professionalism, and positive attitude during lengthy periods of high volume, intensive work.
Flexible and comfortable with change.
