The Head ofMarketing at Herb Pharm will create and execute a marketing strategy that drives brand awareness and revenue across all digital and retail platforms. A key member of the executive leadership team, this role will leverage Herb Pharm’s brand story and ethos to develop new ways to connect with consumers. This is a strategic and hands-on role that covers a broad range of marketing functions: digital and ecommerce marketing, brand management and communication, channel and account marketing, and project management.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative, servant leader who will lead the strategic and tactical aspects of marketing while adhering to regulations defined by the FDA and FTC and as approved by Herb Pharm’s internal regulatory personnel.
Strategy + Marketing Leadership
Deeply understands and articulates Herb Pharm’s core attributes, purpose, and root values.
Builds and manages a comprehensive messaging plan, while maintaining agility within the planning process in order to capitalize on immediate opportunities.
Creates and executes digital marketing and advertising programs to drive demand, revenue, and brand awareness for both ecommerce and traditional brick & mortar businesses.
Oversees and evolves consistent look, feel, and voice of the brand. Ensures all messaging coming from sales and marketing is consistent to the end consumer and falls under strict regulatory requirements.
Collaborates with the executive leadership team on market-entry strategies to expand Herb Pharm’s international reach.
Owns building marketing budget and reviewing monthly financial reports to ensure accuracy and budget adherence.
Contributes to new product development in product steering meetings in collaboration with the cross-functional executive leadership team and subject matter experts.
Consumer Awareness + Engagement
Develops and executes marketing programs and assets that support Herb Pharm’s business and sales team across all active channels, including ecommerce, natural food chains and coops, grocery stores, and natural medicine practitioners.
Creates a dashboard of digital and other marketing KPI’s, identifying key metrics, reporting frequencies, and data sources.
Builds Herb Pharm’s website into a segment-leading sales platform.
Creates, tests, and scales digital search, advertising, email, referral, and other on- and off-line tactics to drive revenue and brand.
Leads ideation, planning, design, construction, logistics and in-show execution of Herb Pharm’s presence at relevant trade shows, including Natural Products Expo West every March.
Oversees the creative process and assets, including graphic design, copywriting, photo and videography, packaging and digital assets.
Team Leadership + Development
Creates a culture of trust, collaboration, and achievement within marketing and with other functions.
Challenges self and all involved to create innovative approaches to messaging, delivery, and methods.
Works closely with direct reports to build and retain a strong, committed, passionate, and collaborative team.
Serve as a servant leader to the broader organization, living out the company’s purpose and root values.
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or other relevant major. MBA is preferred.
7+ years in marketing required, with at least 4 years in a digital-centric role.
Strong understanding of marketplace trends and proven ability to monitor competitors and identify opportunities and risks.
Experience in natural foods, supplements, or compatible markets or products preferred.
Ability to use marketing-specific platforms, such as adobe, ecommerce platforms, and smartsheets.
Not an herbalist, but one who respects herbalism and wants to learn.
Able to learn, understand, and respect federal and state rules governing dietary supplements ( FDA, FTC, etc).
Ability to compose and present innovative presentations to internal and external partners.
