My client is an automotive spare parts distributor, supplying to some of the world's largest automotive brands. They are a global business.
The key tasks and responsibilities of this position are but not limited to:
Supervise/Manage and assist the day to day running of the warehouse operations, with specific focus on receipting, picking, and the timely dispatching of goods
Responsible for compliance with health and safety regulations and environmental and quality standards
Lead and manage the design, implementation and development of operational processes to create and maintain a robust framework for delivering both the day to day work and the business plan going forward.
Drive performance improvements through auditing processes and reporting mechanisms
To manage and oversee the transport with external logistics company's Overall accountability for operational performance to Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators
To support all areas, achieve a step change improvement in operational excellence and organisation capability
PDC warehouse to be at world class operational levels (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery) - achieving all operational and client KPI's - Inbound / Outbound / bin denials / DY < / PI targets achieved - All stock loss for each warehouse achieved
Create and maintain close working relationships with the customer(s) and the customer's customer and prospective customers
Spend time with the customer to understand short, medium- and long-term requirements
To be considered for this role you must have at least 4-5 years in a similar role and demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Has an extensive background within warehouse management, with capacity to improve warehouse efficiency's and make day to day processes better
Excellent communicator, at all levels and through all mediums. Ability to interface and manage relationships at all levels across the territory
MUST have extensive experience using SAP
Track record of delivering profits in excess of plan
A lean practitioner with a proven track record
Possess strong leadership and management skills with proven ability to manage and motivate teams to meet their KPIs
Process driven with strong project management skills
Previous experience working within the automotive industry (desired)
A formal qualification in Warehousing and Logistics Management
Formal Lean methodology qualifications e.g. 6 Sigma
