Our 3 Doctor small animal general practice is seeking an associate to start as soon as possible. If you chose Veterinary Medicine to be able to provide care for patients and clients, and to provide a living for yourself or your family, our practice will give you the chance to fulfill your career goals. Experienced veterinarians or new graduates will be considered, because mentoring is a two-way street and a way of life in our practice. The applicant should be knowledgeable, personable, and willing to carry on our practice philosophy which is to treat people and pets as we ourselves would like to be treated. This person should be interested in improving their personal skill set on a daily basis. We aim to be thoughtful and thorough in our case management. Our supportive staff is established, team-oriented, and very personable with our clientele.
As an important part of providing yourself or your family with a “living”, you would like to know we have performed “work-life balance” principles in our practice for the last ten years, and with three doctors, will continue to do so. Our doctors have one half day off during the week, work two weekends in a row (currently Saturday 8-12, with Sunday off), and have a four-day weekend off (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday) every third week. Each doctor has surgery/dental hours scheduled one day per week, with out-patient hours scheduled the other days of the work-week. Our clinic hours are 8 A.M.-6 P.M. M-F and the aforementioned Saturday, 8 A.M.-Noon. We do not have “on call” duties, but instead refer after-hours clients to one of several nearby emergency practices. A local VCA Referral practice receives many of the cases we feel require, or feel would benefit from, specialty care.
Our practice, established for 60 years in small-town North Aurora, Illinois (45 minutes southwest of downtown Chicago), operates from a recently remodeled, modern, 6000 square foot facility with a greatly functional floor plan to go along with its visual appeal. Please check out representative images at foxvalleyvet.net. Supportive medical and diagnostic equipment includes in-house IDEXX Catalyst lab and the staff to run it, separate dental suite with digital dental x-ray, surgical laser, medical laser, digital x-ray, ultrasound, Tonovet tonometer, and otoendoscope. In our location, we also benefit from daily reference lab pickups.
We will pay a base salary with bonus opportunities available (Pro-Sal concept). Our annual benefits include two weeks’ vacation, $1500 and up to 5 days allowance for CE, a Group health program, partial paid maternity leave, State license and DEA license fees, association memberships up to $400, malpractice insurance allowance up to $350, and participation in a SMPL IRA program.
We are a privately owned corporation, not, however, a “corporate” practice. And while we are not AAHA accredited, we share many of their standards of excellence, and strive to do our best for our patients and clients.
