Ohio University’s Office of Information Technology is seeking qualified applicants for the Application Systems Analyst II position.
This position is a member of the packaged and productivity solutions team and under general supervision is responsible for working with IT staff and business customers to understand requirements and system capabilities to propose, build/configure, and implement low to moderately complex solutions that utilize existing tools and technologies. Collects and analyzes information from systems users to formulate the scope and objectives of the systems. Estimates the costs of system solutions and prepares project plans to provide input into decisions about prioritizing projects and allocating IT resources. Provides technical guidance pertaining to the capabilities, limitations and requirements of the applications. Directs the implementation and support of policies, standards, guidelines and industry best practices.
Duties include: 1.Solution Analysis & Design – Recommends a course of action for required information systems in the following areas: solution scoping, requirements analysis, gap analysis, feasibility, functional design, risk assessment, architecture, application configuration and development, integration testing, user acceptance testing, production deployment, and support.
2.Development – Works as a project team member, or independently, to build and integrate moderately complex information systems to meet business requirements. Reviews requirements for clarity, completeness, consistency, and work with customers and project managers to resolve conflicts and ambiguity. Provides estimates and documents requirements.
3.Support/Maintenance – Provides advanced technical support, assistance, and information to users; trains users in system operations as necessary; coordinates communication and activities with users; reviews and analyzes system problems and needs and identifies solutions for implementation; provides work direction to junior analyst.
4.Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field or equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered
At least 1 year of professional experience in a technology-related position
Proficient in at least one programming language
Demonstrated experience with workflow concepts using a software-based workflow engine
OnBase server administration and support for various enterprise functions
Understanding of workflow, queues, transitions, API interfaces, and complex business solutions
Proven understanding and experience in installing and configuring OnBase Client software
Experience with the OnBase database schema
OnBase certifications: OnBase Certified Administrator, Workflow Engineer and API
C# programming experience
Ability to take complex business requirements and translate them into working solutions
Experience working in higher education
Experience working on an Agile Scrum team
Goal-oriented and driven attitude with a superior ability to execute and sustain a high sense of urgency
Strong analytical, technical, interpersonal and communication skills
Experience working effectively in both an individual and team dynamic (cross-functional teams)
Ability to be flexible, multi-task, prioritize and execute on initiatives in a fluid landscape
