The Director of Communications works within the Division of the Chief Financial Officer and with key partners across the university to provide marketing, communications and change management direction and support.
Develop and maintain key messages for the Division of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Assist CFO with special projects including presentations, speeches, special events, etc. Develop and manage regular internal and external communications for the units reporting to the CFO. Work closely with leadership within the division of the CFO and the university communications team to insure a cohesive and strategic communication plan. Serve as a member on university committees related to communications. Assist with change management initiatives. Work with content owners to ensure the websites for the various units within the division of the CFO are accurate and current at all times. Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or related field. Five (5) years related experience or the equivalent experience. Experience with website design and experience with social media platforms. Experience with organizational change management.
Two (2) years of experience working at an institution of higher education. Three (3) years working with executives. Excellent organization, editing, and writing skills. Project management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with websites and content management tools.
