USC University Human Resources is looking for an Instructional Designer to join the HR Innovations and Solutions team!Â You will be working closely with the teamâs manager and Senior Learning and Development Specialist to create new learning programs, develop experiences, and increase accessibility to resources to unlock the potential of leaders, teams, and the organization.Â The team is responsible for creating technical learning content for Workday and other HR Systems with cross-functional opportunities into other areas of the Human Resources field.Â One of the key projects for this role is the redesigning of Workday-user courses from in-person, instructor-led format to a blended or fully online format.Â This is a highly collaborative and diverse environment, where you will play an integral role in fostering a learning culture at the university.
Design the structure of a training curriculum for Workday and other HR systems users
Apply the structure to create the design of individual modules within a course or courses that supports the redesign of face-to-face training into technology supported courses for a blended or fully online format for different learning groups
Recommend appropriate use of technology and instructional design strategies to meet course objectives and learning outcomes for online, face-to-face, and/or blended courses
Produce creative and professional multimedia instructional material integrating across platforms as appropriate, including digital images, audio, and video resources (e.g., narrated presentation, animations, etc.), and interactive sites and other course content
Collaborate with business partners and SMEs to design, implement, and evaluate training programs
Develop scalable training delivery methods that are convenient and accessible to facilitate just-in-time learning to support the needs of the organization
Develop structures and procedures that streamline course design and/or implementation
Translate learning objectives into appropriate learning activities and assessments, and assist in developing production timelines
Work with managers of technology to develop electronic databases.Â Maintain electronic databases that contain data on learning objectives, learning activities, assessment activities, and course structure
Create and revise course documents and/or other related training assets to meet the requirements of the organization
Deliver and coordinate the delivery of ILT, vILT, and eLearning
Maintain currency with current innovations and trends in the field of instructional design
Perform other related duties as assigned
What We Prefer:
Bachelorâs degree in instructional design and technology, education media design, learning and development, or related field of study
Experience in technical and/or systems training (Workday)
Knowledge of standard instructional design frameworks and practices, and currency with new research and theory leading to advancement in the field
Knowledge of standard an emerging educational tools and systems, and proficiency with eLearning authoring tools (Storyline)
Experience with Learning Management Systems (Cornerstone)
Familiarity with broad range of pedagogical approaches (e.g., game-based learning and learner-centered design)
Knowledge of web and usability design
Ability to use web-based conferencing systems, synchronous and asynchronous collaborative software, and develop web-based instructional material, video, animation, and various streaming media.
Ability to develop creative learning resources using HTML, web editing applications, basic audio/video editing, and basic graphic design practices
Skilled in Windows operating system and the Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365
Strong presentation skills
