Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.
The Wholesale Strategic Execution (WSE) team is responsible for driving multiple large-scale initiatives within and across Wholesale Banking. Examples include LIBOR transition, strategic and operational programs, business combinations and divestitures, and adoption of new and amended regulatory requirements. The Functional Leader will be part of the WSE expanded leadership team and have the following primary responsibilities:
Accountable individual for program / product / project delivery of significant risk, complexity, scope, and financial impact for a single large functional area or a combination of small diverse functional areas
Provides leadership and direction to cross-functional teams using business acumen and expertise to ensure that efforts are appropriately scoped and deliverables are met. Examples may include:
Operational strategies and execution
Models, systems, tools and third-party vendor relationships
Product and pricing
Data and analytics
Contracts, agreements and other legal documentation (internal and external)
Internal policies and procedures
Budgets, resource planning and funding of operational and systems enhancements
Establishes priorities and drives accountability for assigned initiatives, providing leadership to ensure solutions are designed, integrated and controlled to optimize effectiveness, account for all aspects of risk exposure, and create efficiencies as appropriate
Works with key internal and/or external partners, possibly including agency representatives, regulators and auditors, to distill complex concepts into pragmatic and simplified/targeted solutions
Develops and implements reporting/information delivery/presentations with key stakeholders and senior management within responsible area, including root cause, cost/benefit, and risk analyses
Partners with the operations and technology teams on the LIBOR Transition initiative to manage issues and risks and drive successful execution of implementation plans
Ensures compliance with all regulatory, corporate reporting, balance sheet, accounting and capitalization requirements

10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: business support, project management, implementation, business operations or strategic planning in financial services
5+ years of leadership experience

10+ years of experience in the financial services industry, with broad knowledge in more than one of the following areas: audit, compliance, operational or regulatory risk management, business process management, operations, product management, finance, sales and trading, portfolio/balance sheet management, hedging strategies and/or pricing and risk modeling
Prior experience and track record working on large scale, operationally-intense transformation/transition initiatives across a wide range of functions, including business, finance, operations and technology
Demonstrated experience leading change initiatives and successful implementations within commercial or consumer lending, lending operations, treasury management and/or digital solutions
Strong understanding and application of risk management principles
Prior experience and track record with working effectively with senior leadership
Exceptional ability to collaborate and consult with key business partners and translate complex, business and operational concepts so that they are clearly understood in support of sound decisions to meet business objectives
Ability to effectively balance creativity and pragmatism
Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to clearly communicate results
Energetic contributor who is flexible, conscientious and has a demonstrated ability to work in unstructured environments
Develops an independent point of view and can lead through problem solving
A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Business Management and/or Technology
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
