The Signage Specialist is responsible for working with the Signage Manager to execute exterior signage and décor programs. The Specialist will also procure and buy a multitude of items to support the Architecture and Design team. This individual focuses on permanent signage, exterior signage, and store sign kits for remodels, demo-rebuilds, and new stores in support of the Signage Manager. In addition, the Signage Specialist supports by evaluating supplies, negotiating costs, ordering materials, and reviewing product quality. They work closely with internal departments and external vendors to ensure all stores receive consistent materials to help strength the overall brand from store to store.
Assists in managing the exterior signage program by reviewing brand books, researching and understanding sign codes, assisting with documentation for Engineering to permit, writing variance reports and helping manage RaceTrac’s signage vendors.
Updates, maintains, and ships out permanent in-store signage to ensure timely delivery, accuracy, cost-sensitivity and consistency.
Communicates the status of missing new store signage and equipment with Installers, field personnel, and Supply Chain and works with Supply Chain and our warehouse to ensure signage is shipped out and received at the stores; orders large shipments include Marketing, Operations, Food, and Tobacco phases to new stores.
Strategizes with various cross-functional internal departments to ensure all interior décor at the store level is cohesive and within Brand standards. Works with external vendors to ensure décor and graphics books are updated regularly and communicates changes with Construction.
Reviews and communicates changes to permanent in-store signage with Category, Food Program Offers, Promotions, Creative, Construction and Operations teams.
Assists in designing and implementing new alternatives for store signage and hardware to enhance the guest experience and ensure an easy-to-shop, well-designed store.
Facilitates communication between various departments regarding remodel, grand-opening, rollout, and closing signage and procedures.
Evaluates suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed to accomplish project objectives.
Reviews décor samples and creates master file books for RT reference to ensure intent, colors, quality, and installation requirements.
Attends meetings, trade shows, and conferences to learn about new industry trends and make contacts with new suppliers.
Maintains and reviews records of items bought, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories and meets with staff and vendors to discuss defective of unacceptable goods or services and determines corrective action.
Supports the Marketing Team and other departments within the SSC in developing signs and displays for Brand, Promotions, and events within our office.
Establishes, develops, and maintains proficient working relationships with multiple outside agencies and vendors as well as internal RaceTrac SS departments such as Operations and Category Management.
Collaborates with accounting to reconcile any discrepancies in invoices with specific purchase orders.
Bachelors’ Degree from a 4-year College or University and 3-5 years of experience in signage or décor industry
Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft products
Familiarity with Corel a plus
Ability to prioritize request from multiple clients required
Math skills, analytical skills, and familiarity with data entry required
