Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk.
The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.
The Consumer Credit Sr. Associate position will be expected to lead initiatives to establish or enhance operational efficiency and consistency across Home Lending Credit Risk with respect to enterprise policies and process execution. This role will have significant interaction with managers and team members across Home Lending Credit Risk; will provide direction and oversight across the organization. The right candidate needs to be capable of interpreting process and information, identifying changes/gaps/inconsistencies and developing action plans for process improvement.
Responsibilities for this position include the following (but are not limited to):
Monitor enterprise policies that impact Consumer Credit Risk for new additions and/or changes to policies
Coordinate policy feedback and questions by partnering across Consumer Credit Risk
Lead change management effort to ensure implementation of and compliance with updates to enterprise polices
Conduct ongoing assessments of process operation across Home Lending Credit Risk with a focus on policy compliance and controls. Identify risks/gaps and develop strategies for resolution. Ensure resolutions are successfully implemented in accordance with objectives, policies and/or feedback from partners
Develop Home Lending Credit Risk process to policy matrix
Partner across teams to development and implement business process standards and controls (process maps, overviews, procedures, risk identification and control)
Develop and maintain business partner relationships with all functional areas within Home Lending Credit Risk to ensure broad understanding of the business and objectives. Provide credible challenge on the design and operation of processes
Design tools (using SAS, VBA, etc) to aid in process improvement via efficiency, sustainability, and user experience
Continuously evaluate the adequacy, effectiveness, and operation of change management
Become a subject matter expert on the application of corporate policies
5+ years of experience in risk role
Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong independent thinking skills
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
Process documentation experience
