The Assistant Director for Visual Media Marketing works closely with the Marketing & Special Events team in Undergraduate Admissions to provide photo / video support to other departments within Enrollment Management (Orientation, Financial Aid, etc.). This position oversees all video production for use in student recruitment and markets as well as college and departmental marketing. Additionally, the position provides advanced level photography services for use in key recruiting publications and digital platforms (website, emails, social media, virtual sessions, etc.) as well as other education materials and recruitment collateral. This position is vital to successfully implementing the undergraduate marketing strategies for Enrollment Management and the university at large, and to the success of UofSC's undergraduate recruiting and admissions efforts.
The main goal of this role is to generate, nurture and convert prospective students into applicants and enrolled students through informative and engaging visuals and content. This individual is a visual artist and storyteller who can showcase the value of our product in a compelling way. He/She is also a team player who can give and receive constructive feedback. The position works in an environment with tight deadlines and excels at multi-tasking as well as balancing multiple projects at once. Other responsibilities include keeping abreast of new trends and creative ways to communicate our brand and the value of our unique college offering to prospective / admitted students and their families as well as high school counselors using a variety of media, managing visual and digital content archive, and having working knowledge of copyright regulations and privacy laws.
Additionally, this position uses his/her knowledge of admissions procedures, policies and practices to provide accurate counseling and customer service to students, parents and guidance counselors at special events taking place frequently throughout the year.
The position requires some evening and weekend work and may also require occasional travel.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Master's degree and 1 year professional experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material, or Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience.
