The Legal Project Manager, M&A, will coordinate and provide primary legal support for the company's merger and acquisition activities. This role calls for a senior paralegal with subject matter expertise in both the legal dimensions and process requirements essential to M&A practice. The position requires someone who can coordinate activities across the various disciplines and functions integral to deals. Meanwhile, the Manager, Process and Operations/M&A, is also expected to be a doer, responsible for M&A activities such as, among others, due diligence, assembling schedules and other definitive documents, and managing a closing checklist. The selected candidate will report to General Counsel, Commercial Law responsible for practice group process and operations, with a close working relationship to deal attorneys, outside counsel, and the Vice President, Commercial Law. Location will be headquarters in Milwaukee or Cleveland.
Project manage Office of General Counsel's (OGC) cross-functional team in deal activities;
Serve as subject matter expert primarily responsible for certain essential deal activities including: due diligence; coordinating process of document review, revisions, and finalization; assembling schedules and other deal documents; managing closing checklist; coordinating closings;
Forge a solid relationship with our colleagues in Corporate Development;
Serve as primary point of contact for interface with outside deal counsel;
Serve as primary point of contact to the OGC deal team for company employees outside the OGC from the businesses and functions (e.g., HR, Finance);
Work with interdisciplinary project teams focused on process and tools to improve effectiveness of deal activities both within OGC and throughout the enterprise;
Work with in-house attorneys who participate on deals to create repeatable documents and store in a virtual environment commonly accessible to the team;
Focus on execution, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
